Softpower Business Solutions
Becomes a PSP Adopter
Old Saybrook, CT., June 8, 2007 – On June 8, 2007, Softpower Business Solutions becomes one of the industry leaders that have adopted Partners Standard Protocol (PSP) to allow their dealer customers to transact business with suppliers without ever leaving their Softpower system, SoftBiz.
Softpower Business Solutions is a technology company dedicated to providing quality business management software for Outdoor Power Equipment, Power Sports, and Marine Dealers as well as small distributors. Softpower has been a long time supporter of standardized e-commerce and has supported industry solutions in Outdoor Power Equipment for the last 7 years. According to Softpower’s President Bob Senger, “PSP will allow Softpower to support its customers that operate in both industries. We have made a significant effort to upgrade our technology to accommodate e-commerce and this is a great opportunity to apply our investment in technology.”
By the end of 2007, dealers using Softpower Business Solution’s Dealer Management System, (DMS), SoftBiz will be able to submit parts orders with any PSP-certified Supplier. In addition, when placing orders or checking an order status, dealers no longer have to upload files to a website or phone or fax the supplier. These features will help dealers streamline business transactions while enabling them to provide better service to their customers. Dealers can learn more by contacting Softpower Business Solutions.
“Exchanging business data with many suppliers is an inefficient and labor-intensive process for dealers, requiring them to use multiple systems, learn multiple processes and perform multiple manual steps in between. As suppliers become PSP certified, dealers can do business with them, in real-time directly from their Softpower SoftBiz software - and the more time dealers save on administration, the more time they can devote to selling products, and enhancing their retail customer experience.” says Motorcycle Industry Council’s Patrick Sweeney, V.P. Business Development ,
The PSP initiative is supported by MIC staff and specialized technology consultants, and receives guidance and counsel from the MIC’s Board of Directors through the Technology Advisory Committee and Business Advisory Committee. With PSP specifications now publicly released, any company can adopt PSP to streamline the transfer of business data between dealers and suppliers in real time. Operational and testing support for PSP adopters is available to adopters. Companies interested in downloading the specifications or obtaining more information can do so by visiting www.psp.mic.org, or calling 949-727-4211, ext. 3072.
The Motorcycle Industry Council is a not-for-profit, national trade association representing manufacturers and distributors of motorcycles, scooters, motorcycle/ATV parts and accessories and members of allied trades, located in Irvine, Calif.
